Jack is a highly accomplished and results-driven Director with over 25 years of experience leading businesses in high-risk, safety-critical environments. 

Throughout his career, he has successfully managed and owned companies across a variety of complex sectors where safety, compliance, and operational precision were paramount.

Now at the helm of Maple Fire Risk Reports, Jack combines his extensive leadership background with specialist fire safety expertise. 

He holds a Level 4 Diploma in Fire Risk Assessment and a Level 3 Certificate in Fire and Door Inspection, enabling him to deliver robust, compliant, and client-focused fire risk assessments in line with the latest legal and regulatory standards.

Jack is recognised for his strategic insight, hands-on approach, and ability to build trust with clients and stakeholders alike. He brings a structured, methodical process to each project—balancing technical detail with practical application to ensure safety recommendations are both effective and achievable.

As a natural leader, Jack fosters a collaborative, high-performance culture within his team. He is passionate about developing people, setting clear standards, and empowering professionals to consistently deliver outstanding results. Steve Burns brings over 33 years of extensive experience in the fire sector, combining both frontline operational expertise and specialist knowledge in fire protection, investigation, and strategic risk management.

Steve began his career in the fire industry working for a private fire safety testing and maintenance company, gaining hands-on technical experience in system servicing and compliance. 

He then dedicated an impressive 27 years to West Sussex Fire and Rescue Service, where he rose through the ranks to Station Manager.

Steve’s commitment to professional development is reflected in a robust portfolio of qualifications, including:

Level 4 Certificate in Fire Safety.

NEBOSH National General Certificate in Occupational Health and Safety.
APCIL (Level 7 Advanced Professional Certificate in Legal Skills in Investigation).

Lead Accident Investigator, accredited by the Institute of Industrial Accident Investigators (IIAI).

Tier 2 Fire Investigator (Level 4), accredited by the Institute of Fire Engineers (IFE)

Association of Project Management (APM) Level 4 Qualification

He now uses his wealth of knowledge to support clients in achieving compliance, reducing risk, and ensuring fire safety strategies are both robust and realistic.

Kevin is a recently qualified Fire Risk Assessor who brings a fresh perspective, a strong work ethic, and a client-first mindset to the Maple Fire Risk Reports team. 

Since joining, he has quickly become a trusted asset - applying his structured approach, attention to detail, and communication skills to support our mission of delivering clear, compliant, and actionable fire safety advice.

Kevin is committed to continuous learning in the evolving landscape of fire safety regulations. 

His transition into this field follows a highly successful career in the commercial vehicle sales and leasing industry, where he spent many years managing high-performing teams and consistently exceeding client expectations.

Throughout his previous career, Kevin developed a reputation for leading with integrity and precision, creating structured, efficient workflows and building long-term client relationships based on trust, transparency, and respect

Kevin’s experience in managing complex client needs, delivering under pressure, and maintaining compliance with industry standards allows him to offer practical and thoughtful guidance to building owners, landlords, and property managers alike.
